Drawback of Shahrukh Khan and Tri-Nation Live Concert in Bangladesh

I saw both Shahrukh Khan live concert on Dec 10, 2010 and Tri-Nation concert on Feb 24, 2011 in television. Here is my realization and analysis below.

In the concert of Shahrukh Khan, their presentation was good according to their culture and environment, but it was not fit for our culture. Their dress-up style was improper according to our culture. Moreover the way they have presented the dance was not good also.

Same thing happened in case of Tri-Nation concert also. Their presentation was not good according to our culture.

As a responsible person of Bangladesh, I can’t appreciate this type of concert. Because

• Presently we are saying about stopping eve teasing. On the other hand we are allowing presenting such a show where they are dancing using the song named 'Shila ki jawani' in the stage in front of thousand of Bangladeshi.
• Besides Shahrukh Khan live concert has been presented in the month of victory of Bangladesh. And Tri-Nation Live Concert has presented in the month of international mother language day. February, March and December are most important month for every Bangladeshi. So how can we arrange such a program which is based on other language within these months? 

Some people will ask - what is the problem if we listen song of other language in these months? My answer is - Will you watch TV or Movie on the day of mother's death? I know - none can watch this kind of entertaining program on the day of death of his/her mother. Same as it's not right to entertain using other language in these special months. We should show proper respect to our language in these months. Those who don't know the history of Bangladesh deeply, they will not able to understand me. Obviously a language soldier will understand me and my point of view.And this point of view is required as a true Bangladeshi.

I am not saying that we should stop such a concert. But lot of improvement required in this kind of show. Just compare the opening ceremony of ICC cricket world cup 2011 with these two live concerts. I did not see any lacking in the opening ceremony. That was well presented and very nice program. I think none will complain about this program.

In case of these the concerts, the management of ANTAR SHOWBIZ and DESTINY GROUP could select other month. Obviously performer of other country will not know much about our country. So they could inform about the cultural decorum so that those performer could update required issues as per our cultural decorum. But the management of Antar Showbiz and Destiny Group had more tension regarding their profit. So they surely did not care about our culture. Their focus was to earn money only. Thus all these happened. I am not against business. I am a business man also. But we can’t do such irresponsible work at the name of business.

I will also say – How Shahrukh Khan and his team can do such a show without knowing about our environment? Whenever he and his team will go out outside India to perform, then they should think - where he going and what the environment are there? He knows he is a legend of Indian Cinema. People follows him. So he should have to be more responsible than other. During watching Shahrukh Khan, I was discussing with my sister about this. Then she was saying that expecting from Shahrukh all these is foolishness. Because Shahrukh Khan is professional. So he will not think about all these. Probably my sister was correct. But still I will say – The person like him should have to be more responsible.

I have a favorite dialog in Spider-Man film which is - "With great power comes great responsibility” So I hope - Shahrukh Khan, ANTAR SHOWBIZ and DESTINY GROUP will remember it always.

Bad behaving managers

In Bangladesh, I have seen and heard about some managers who behave very roughly with employees. Some managers think that employee will not work properly without behaving badly. Let’s share my experience and analysis with you regarding this issue.....

Every manager has to understand that everything is changing now a day. Now old formulas will not work properly in many cases. Previously the education rate of Bangladesh was low. So previously majority employee was not higher educated. But now most of us have at least graduation. So if manager behave badly with this educated employee, then they will take it very negatively. I know - it's important to pressurize employee to complete task on time. But you can’t pressurize your employee by behaving badly. Behaving badly is not the solutions. I can be strong and create pressure by behaving politely also. Rude behave is not important to complete tasks via employees.

I have already played managerial role in different companies as well as I have seen the managerial strategy of different bosses. The best managerial strategy I have seen at United Group International (UGI Ltd). The CEO of UGI Ltd. is Mr.Zakir Khan. I have never seen him rude to his employees. His company is running properly and progressing day by day. So I have worked with him 2 years. During this time I have seen that a company can run successfully without rude behave also.


I have also seen some manager who don’t even know that they behaving badly with employees. Sometimes employees informs manager about his bad behave. But manger does not understand his fault. On the other hand, manager interprets employee in a wrong way. It’s hard to realize and accept your own fault. But try to find out what majority says.  
 

 Managing people is very hard job. Everyone is unique. So it’s very important to handle people carefully. It’s hard to satisfy all as a manager. But you have to manage such a way so that majority (70~90%) support you. As a manager, don't just talk much. Try to listen what your employee want to say. Sometimes manager don't listen to his employee which is very bad practice. Behaving politely doesn’t cost much. But bad behavior of manager is insulting for employees and they will be dissatisfied for this. You have to understand that we are human, we all have personality and we all want respect. So try to find out other way rather then behaving badly with your employee. 

40-20-40 rule is best for software/website development

During developing a software/website, most of the software/website developers/engineers use 60-80% of total time for coding and they use rest of his time for project analysis, database design and testing where as the traditional software development life cycle follows 40-20-40 rule during development of software or website which mean developer should spend 40% of total time for project analysis and design, 20% for programming and rest of 40% for testing.

During doing my software engineering course I learnt about 40-20-40 rule. But I have not seen this practice in most of software companies. Most of the developers don't know about the real benefit of using this rule as well as companies management don't understand it also. Most of the new developers also have doubt about this 40-20-40 rule. Because according to them programming takes most of the time because of developing many features. But this is not the truth. This is a misunderstanding.

A real Project Manager, System Analyst or Senior Software developer or engineer will understand about its benefit deeply. Because you will not able to design database properly without having proper knowledge of the project. Developers will face many difficulties and programming will time consuming without a good database design. So project analysis and design is more important part at the beginning of development. If your project analysis and database design is good, then your programming time will be reduced. And after programming, most of the companies deliver software without proper testing. Thus client become angry because of lots of errors. Developers provide lots of time for programming, but they don't provide 20% of programming time for testing. So result is - client find lots of error after software delivery.

You will able to develop error-free software only if you do proper analysis and design at the beginning and do a proper testing at the end. So best time distribution is 40-20-40 ratios. This ratio can vary little bit. But bigger changes will be harmful for you.

Best way of software or website development

After working many years in software and web development companies, I have come to conclusion that a best software/website can be developed if you develop the software in front of your client and take feedback from him regularly.

There are many software and website development companies in the world. These companies get software or website development work from Non-IT companies. These companies show development progress in every 5/7 days. And they continue solving errors after delivering the project also. In this procedure, client does not get option to solve any problem instantly and developers don't get instant feedback from client also.

So if non-IT Company can hire good developers, then it will be very good for both side to communicate each other’s and there will be very less chance of errors. So this is best way of web development. But in this case the problems are,

• It's hard for non-IT Company to hire good developers and maintain quality.
• Small teams of 2/3 developers can’t guarantee of handling bigger projects and making quality software or website.

So choose your way depending on the volume of your project.It is safe to develop a software or website via Software or Website Development Company, but a best software can be developed if client and developers work together under same roof.

For example - IT people focus on IT related courses and Business students focus on business related courses only. But to run business successfully, you need knowledge of both IT and business. So you should take knowledge from others area also. Lets take my case - I am completed my graduation on Computer Science and Engineering. So I am expert in the area of computer, IT, software and web development. Beside I have interest in HRM, Marketing, Physics, Mathematics, Astrology, Egyptology, Traveling, Photography etc.

So concentrate in the class properly, ask question if you are not clear and learn something from me. By sitting in the corner without understanding anything of my class will be the wasting of your and my time. I always try my best to provide you as much knowledge as I can. Monthly Inome of a Rickshawala is higher then a Marketing Officer.

In Dhaka, currently income of a Rickshawala is BDT 300/- per day. So his monthly income is BDT 9000/-. On the other hand, some companies of Bangladesh are paying starting from BDT 4000/- per month to their marketing officers who completed their 4 years graduation from different universities of Bangladesh. It's shocking. But this is truth and current scenario of Bangladesh.

Rickshawala's are earning more they deserve. They are charging more then the actual rent. I know cost of our daily foods is increasing day by day. But they are increasing rent of Ricksha more compare to the price of food which is unexpected. They increase rent in every 2 month. Government has no monitoring system for this section.So middle class people are facing lots of problem for this increased price.

On the other hand those companies are paying very low salary to their officers. Because they are the company owners, so they can pay anything whatever they like.

We have no control over government. So we have to solve our problem our self. And the solutions is -

• Disagree and stop to pay more then actual rent to Rickshawala.
• Don't join with those who are not paying minimum standard salary consciously.

If we all follow this technique, then problem will be solved. Because when rickshawala will see that no one accepting their increased price, then they will not get chance to increase price. On the hand, when company will see that they are getting anyone by offering low salary, then they will change also.

As we all know that the speed of light (denoted by c) is exactly 299,792,458 meters per second. So it’s equal to 299792.458 kilometers per second. By round off, we use 300000km per second.

Let’s imagine a car which is crossing 300000km per second. As usual, this car also has headlights. Turn on headlights of the car. Now you question is - The car is crossing the distance of 300000km per second and the light from car headlights is crossing the distance of 300000km per second. How much distance does the car and the light from car headlights travel in a second?

Probably you will say – they both will cross the distance of 600000km (300000km + 300000km) per second. Yes, your mathematics is right. But according to my scenario, you are wrong. It will not happen actually. Because speed of the car is equal to the speed of light. So the car and the light from the car headlights will cross same distance of 300000km per second in parallel. So it's like 300000km + 300000km = 300000km.

100 years is equal to 20 years

Imagine, you have passed 100 years and I am saying you that I have passed only 20 years within your 100 years. Will you believe it? I know, your answer will be 'NO'. But this is possible also. Let's explain...
Let's make a super fast train which will be able to travel whole world 7 times per second in a straight line. Now I am taking my seat inside the train and you are standing in station for my return. Then let’s start the train with the speed I mention. Train has left the station and you are waiting and waiting and 100 years has passed before my return. Do you know - I have passed only 20 years inside the train where you passed 100 years.

Do you know why? Because science tell us - If we can design such a transport so that it can travel with that speed, then passenger of that transport will pass less time then our time. What happen there is - time speed decreases inside the transport because of the speed of the transport.

In the universe, the speed of time is different in different places of the universe compare to our time speed. It's hard to imagine. But this is the truth.

Late assignment submission tendency of students

I have given an assignment on Feb 2, 2011 to my students and deadline of assignment submission was Feb 08, 2011. Today is Feb 12, 2011, but still some of my students are submitting assignment.

I have seen this earlier also. Most of the students has tendency of doing their assignment just before the deadline. And they submit assignment on the deadline or after the deadline. I have seen the same practice in the software companies also. Web developers or Software engineers give more time just before deadline and take lot of load before deadline. But why so?

Why don't you do the exactly opposite which is my practice in my regular life. Whenever I am assigned for a task, then I give full effort at the beginning and try to complete the task many days ago of deadline. And at the time of deadline, I take rest by saying my top management that I completed the task in advance. In this case, they are also happy and I am also happy because of avoiding the load of last days.

I have followed same strategy during studying in my university and working in different software companies. So according to my understanding, the way I follow is much better and safe way. Try to follow this.

Most companies of Bangladesh don't have weekly 2 off days

In Bangladesh, most of the company don’t understand the importance of weekly 2 days off. Some of them understand it, but they will not apply it because of their various reasons. But they don't consider the view of their employees. One thing they always forget - A company can not go far if the majority employees are unhappy.I am not saying that company have to provide everything what their employee wants. But they have to satisfy majority of the employees.

Company fears to provide weekly two days off in place of one day off. Because they will lose labor a day. According to government law, employees are working 6 days in place of 5 days. On the other hand, they failed to realize that one day off is not enough after working 6 days in a week. Off day passes by sleeping half day and rest of day passes very quickly. Their body and brain fail to get refresh time. For this reason, the chance of becoming ill is higher and employees are losing their creativity and becoming dissatisfied day by day. So actually companies are losing in long run.

Yes, I know there are some companies where providing weekly two off days is not possible. In that case, company should explain the scenario to their employee. Then they will understand it and will not be dissatisfy also. Because they knows about their company well. But employees become dissatisfy when company tries to convince their employees with unrealistic explanation.

It's not possible for any company to satisfy 100% to their employee. So I request company owners to take decision carefully and try to satisfy majority of employees. Otherwise company will never go ahead and continuous changing of employees will make life hell.

Bangladeshi street children eat once a day

Yesterday I was watching news of a TV channel. Then I have seen a report where they were showing about daily life style of street children. I was surprised to see that they ate only one time in a day with rice and dal only. And their parent hardly manages their daily food. The price of rice is 48 Taka now a day and price of other items are comparatively high. It is impossible for their parents to provide them food more than one time in a day because of their low-income and high price of foods. How can someone live by eating only one time in a day? But unfortunately this is the scenario of the street children of Bangladesh in 2011.

Previously I never thought about those people who eat one time only. Actually it was beyond my imagination. Today during coming to office, I was thinking - How lucky we are that we were born in a family where we can eat properly. So we should always thank Allah (or God) for provide us good environment.

I was always interested to do something for poor people. But unfortunately I don’t have enough money so that I can do something for them. But there are many people in Bangladesh who has enough money, but they don't come forward to help them. My question to them is - what will you do with your additional money? Use your additional money for poor people. Let them eat just 2 times in a day. Do something for them. Work together, come up with new plan/project and improve their life style.

The numbering system we use in daily life is called decimal number system where we have 10 digits from 0 to 9. And another type of numbering system is Octal Numbering System. In octal, we have only 8 digits starting from 0 to 7. So in octal numbering system, we will count this way 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,10,11,12,13,14,1,5,16,17,20,21......75,77,100,101.....107,110,101......and so. In octal, 7+1= 10. So 100-1=77 in octal number system. So I hope, your confusing is clear now.

Wrong statement of Albert Einstein - "Before God we are all equally wise and equally foolish."

One of the statement Albert Einstein was - "Before God we are all equally wise and equally foolish".
I totally disagree with his this statement.Because the reason is - "Although science don't believe in God/Allah, but Albert Einstein mentioned about God. So he believed in God. So according to him - God has created this universe and we came after long time of creating universe. So where comes the question of our existence before God? And where comes the question of becoming wise and foolish."

So this was a wrong statement of Sir Albert Einstein.
